In this role, you will take ownership of designing and evolving payment solutions, contributing to scalable, future-proof architectures for our clients.

We are currently looking for a Transformation Consultant (m/f/d) to join our team.

• Design and shape a central payment infrastructure, with a focus on scalable and future-proof solutions
• Analyze, conceptualize, and further develop e-payment solutions for the public sector
• Define end-to-end payment processes, including integration into domain systems, portals, and digital wallets
• Advise clients on the selection, integration, and management of payment service providers (PSPs) and payment methods
• Contribute to the target architecture, including APIs, orchestration, and routing logic
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. PSD2, ZAG, DORA, GDPR)
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across ministries, public authorities, IT providers, and PSPs
• Support pilot phases, rollout, and scaling of implemented solutions
• Provide functional guidance on payment architecture topics (e.g. wallet integration, emerging payment methods such as RTP, WERO, Digital Euro)

• 5+ years of experience in e-payment, payments, or financial services (e.g. PSP, bank, consultancy, or platform provider)
• Strong understanding of common payment methods (SEPA, instant payments, cards, wallets, etc.)
• Experience with payment architectures, including orchestration, PSP integrations, and transaction management
• Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as PSD2, ZAG, and ideally DORA
• Experience designing APIs and integration architectures
• Understanding of end-to-end payment processes, including clearing and settlement
• Familiarity with modern payment solutions (e.g. Request-to-Pay, WERO, Digital Euro)
• Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical concepts
• Fluent in German

Nice to have

• Experience in the public sector or GovTech projects
• Knowledge of platforms such as ePayBL or similar solutions
• Experience with digital identity solutions
• Understanding of ERP / financial systems and their integration into payment processes
• Experience building or operating platform-based solutions
• Basic understanding of cloud architectures and microservices
